Not discouraging anyone from civic duty. A family member got a reprieve from it due to court cancellations. It made me think of things to say. Q: your feelings on capital punishment? A: hanging at the Capitol works for me. Q: have you met the defendant? A: no sir, but I've seen a few like him. Q: your feelings on chemical castration? A: a sharp knife and pine tar would be quicker. The article is more down to earth.

I'll never serve on a criminal jury because of my background. I've been dismissed from both state (murder) and federal (bank robbery) panels because the defense didn't trust that I was a 20+ year cop and the prosecution that I was a criminal defense attorney.
