A child in Idaho was treated for plague — the first human case in the state in 26 years

Thank you my friend CW5 Jack Cardwell for letting us know that a child in Idaho is recovering after being treated for Pneumonic plague, and that the unnamed child is back home in Elmore County and “doing well” after being treated with antibiotics for Bubonic plague in the hospital.
Like many of us I was inoculated against Bubonic plague as a soldier first time in 1974 and second in 1980. We were inoculated because we might be deployed to areas where the plague was a risk.

I am glad this child is recovering and hope and pray that he will be disease free.
