Bullshit, most of these guys are just losers that get wrapped up into violent causes. They want to play the angry, disgruntled veteran. Then you find out they were REMF's that served zero time in combat. People in the armed forces used to be able to deal with adversity.

Veterans are being made to look weak, violent, unable to deal with issues etc by these sorts. We need to be careful how we are portrayed in the media and in the general public. If normal folks start to believe anyone that ever served anywhere in any job is a bag of problems waiting to happen it hurts all veterans.

You got that right Cpl Jeff N.. And as soon as the news finds out they are ex military, the mental disorder comes up, they have PTSD because they were in combat. They killed 8 cops because of the combat. That's the bullshit, They don't bother to check that out. It makes for better headlines. Then when they do check, they find out they weren't near combat, but it's too late. The words out that we're a killing machine.

I 100% agree Cpl Jeff N. And SGT (Join to see) I'm sick and tired of a couple of bad egg assholes giving us all a bad name. The media also needs to quit jumping to the every veteran has PTSD conclusion. Whether they do or do not has no bearing on going out and murdering anyone. No matter what any of us have seen or done there is always going to be someone that had it worse. They need to suck it up take your meds, go talk to someone or go lock themselves up for a while. I've sick and tired of all of the excuses and people saying that they can't or couldn't get help. Any one of us can go to any VA, civilian hospital, VSO and ask for help that we feel like we are going to hurt ourselves or others and someone will either help or get the help needed. Fuck call 911 of you don't want to leave the house and they'll come to you. Any of these ways will not get anyone turned away.

I was angry as heck when I got back from Iraq just like the angry birds. I had to find ways to work through it and stop being so angry. It took time.

I had major issues that took me a really long time to get over, not from combat, but from a traumatic experience when I was younger. Took 41 yrs. to get that monkey off my back.

I wasn't angry about anything when I got back from Vietnam. I was just glad I made it back. Then I found out I wasn't welcomed, and then I got mad as hell. I couldn't join the VFW or American Legion because they didn't consider Vietnam a war. It took me about 35 years to get over it as long as I took my pills. That makes me mad too, but I take them so you won't read about me in the newspapers killing someone.

Great Time to Point out These Problems Keith. Strike while the Iron is Hot. We have folks returning to the "World" and they don't know how to function so good. They came from another world, a much more Violent World and we need to be doing a better job adapting them.

You would think the government would have learned a lesson from soldiers returning from Vietnam and with the suicide rate as high as it is PO1 William "Chip" Nagel. Oh wait! I forgot. We don't have a government do we? We need to shake things up and force the wanna be government to do something to help our vets. Why are they always put on the back burner? We wouldn't have this wonderful country if it wasn't for all of our veterans. They are taken advantage of by every government entity. It makes me sick. We have to practically beg to be taken care of by those who sent us to war. That's bullshit. I'll get off my soapbox for now, before I blow up, but I'll be back.
