My wife isn't ex-military....I am and I'm her caregiver at home doing dialysis since April 2017 five times a week....hasn't been easy for either of us but we chugging along....since I've been unemployed since June of 2018 its been a little easier on us but still demanding nonetheless....when I was working our day was as follows:

0630 - alarm clock goes off
0700-0730 = get coffee and prep dialysis machine
0800-1030 (+/-) = dialysis done
1100-1130 = break down machine / get it ready for next day
1130-1200 = shower
1230-1400 = commute to work (1-1/2 hour commute)
1400-2200 = work
2230-2330 = drive home

then at 0630 start all over again....did that from April 2017 - June 2018 which also included the 2-1/2 months dialysis training I received....doing dialysis at home does make it easier since we don't have to go to a center but some days it does take it toll on us depending on the outcome....some days she's fine....other days she doesn't want to do or go anywhere....one day at a time, one day at a time....hopefully soon she'll be able to get a transplant and we won't have to do this anymore....
