It is scary to consider the debt tentacles that ensnare all of Pres. Elects Trump's holdings.

I honestly add that the accounting principles entailed with analyzing Trump's debt allude me. My training has been in liberal arts and so while math intrigues me, at least with accounting, I simply do not really understand it. I believe that the Pres. Elect ought to divest himself of the management of his portfolio and give it with its entirety to his children or other trusted subordinates. It is a real concern that any unethical conduct by his wealth administrators could rob him of astronomical sums of money yet he can not run his organizations and the country at the same time. I think that he can not allow himself to check in on how his wealth is increasing while being a sitting president.

People act like he is the only President to ever take office owing money to someone else. The current President owns a house in Chicago that he had a mortgage on when he took office. I am not sure if he still has a mortgage or not but he has said he is staying in the DC area when he leaves office. Since that is only a month away I have to think he has some sort of business attachment to some company here in the DC area. Vice President Biden owns property that he rents out to the Secret Service. Congressmen and Senators have until recently not been subject to insider trading laws allowing themselves to make money off of laws they are enacting. I get there are a lot of people that do not like Donald Trump but this is just looking for any excuse to attempt to make him seem illegitimate. I did not vote for him but he has not even taken office yet. Maybe we should all just give him a chance to see how he actually performs before we get carried away with all of this partisan anti-Trump nonsense.

SGT (Join to see) - I looked at the article but do you really think there is a bank out there that does not have some sort of foreign involvement anymore?
I agree that his level of debt is very high and he probably should put his holdings into a blind trust to remove any perception of impartiality while he is in office but there are too many in the media that do not like him that just looking for some reason to say he is illegitimate.
Vice President Cheney sold off his stocks and put all of his assets in a blind trust before he took office but he still was accused of favoring Halliburton Company because he supposedly owned stock in them from when he ran the company.

SSgt (Join to see) - He knew it was going to be scrutinized and rightfully so, he is not going to put his assets in a blind trust and he has not only indirect, but also direct loans from foreign banks with one of them being China which is most likely owned by the state (When I go thru the article again later I will do some further research).....at the end of the day...these are things which we, the public should know whether we like him or not. He is going to be public servant, so ..well there you go :)

It's also the size and type of the debt that is at issue. A normal home mortgage is structured as such that the bank can exert very little influence on a homeowner making normal payments. The type of debt Trump has is very different.
