In addition to the wage gap, federal workers tend to have better benefits packages and a pension program almost non existent in the private sector. The servants have become the master. Government largess runs through the entire enterprise that is government.

Injustice?
As the spouse of a Federal worker, I don't understand that comment. Is it an injustice for military to receive a decent wage? Is it an injustice for any worker to receive a decent wage?
How much is "too much?"

Obviously there is an issue with equality between government and private pay and that gap must be made fair again. Are you against equality?

Have folks in the private sector forgotten about the recent years of frozen government wages? No raises, no locality pay, etc?
If “people take issue with the public sector continuing to recieve salary increases”, then people don’t really understand the nature of government wages. Automatic, annual raises simply haven’t been automatic or annual, particularly in recent memory.

I am for people being paid what they are worth to the enterprise. Government workers do not really have to do that. They get into the GS structure and with levels and time in service the pretty much increase salary whether the performance is worth a hoot or not. I am not saying there are not loads of government employees that do great work. There many though that are dead wood. We all know it.

LTC (Join to see) - Of course I am for equality. I have been advocating for higher wages for workers for years. I just don't understand the "injustice" comment. We can control the wages of GS workers. Not for the private industry, except at the minimum level.

All one need do is a survey of those who have jumped into federal roles from the private sector and visa Versa. You will likely find a much higher ratio of those fighting to get federal positions. My suspicion only. Thank you all for your service.
