I found this to be a totally engrossing read. It's an incredibly interesting and entertaining story and I HIGHLY recommend that you read it.

'New York pushed Northward. They pushed to claim all of New England ...' Stopped reading right there. New York couldn't take over Vermont in the 1700's and they couldn't do it today either.

California would not work as explained. Jefferson would re-establish itself and let's not forget the folks *OUTSIDE* of the Bay Area and LA Basin are hunters. Gun Control means a whole 'nother thing outside the liberal enclaves.

It seems he is judging people of a state by the behavior and political beliefs of people in the major cities of those states. Also, assuming military member that joined in a specifc state would return to that state to fight is probably incorrect in quite a few cases too.
