On a TDY to SHAPE Headquarters I was traveling with someone whose inlaws lived in Marseilles so we took a couple days leave on the return trip and stopped to visit them. I'm not sure I've ever eaten or had better wine than in those two days.

Did a trip back in '67 to Italy, through Paris. On the way back we went as far as Monte Carlo, then turned north, through Switzerland back to Deutschland. Now I wish we has spent more time on the French Riveria, including Marseille.
Thanks for the post.

Marseille is famous for many things...there is nothing like exquisite country cooking and an excellent vintage glass of wine.
