Very introspective, and I have long agreed with the British Sergeant-Major (Esse es percipi - Latin: To be is to be perceived) Perception really is everything despite the fact it is invariably flawed. That is why one of my favorite management guides is "Rhinoceros Success". You can make even a bad plan work if you pursue it aggressively enough (like a rhinoceros). Fortunately, you have the common sense of every rifleman to make little corrections for you IF you encourage them along that path. Micromanagement will only insure that your subordinates will be more than happy to do precisely what they are told and let you take the blame.
