This was from.a novel with the same basic name, long before Harlan Ellison dreamed up that one, he was the one who wrote the material that was the basis of the one you'd mentioned, this, however, was quite good, some decades before that, though little remembered now, I'd sent it in before....

And though I perceive your rationale, certainly, if you'd pardon me, I'd just as soon avoid thinking of the possibilities, if you would...I've seen way too much really sick stuff the human race has invented...studied it, helped with a good deal of it it, though that was never my original purpose, intention, or wish, of course, and would just as soon have cultural amnesia from having ever even been remotely involved with any of it, to tell the God's truth, honest....

you know, if the human race spent as much time trying to get off this rock as it does trying to blow it up, we'd all more than likely have a fully functioning starship by now...it's like Arthur C Clarke said about space exploration in 2001, the novel, not the movie, long ago, when such aspirations still existed, "For the first time, mankind has found something more exciting than war"...yeah...right...sure...dream on....

Around 2014 a 18 year old mounted a pistol, Glock, on a drone. Guess Army contractor stole his idea !
