My main concern is that the higher echelon gets into such a hurry to have women in the SEALS, that they lower standards- that would be a HUGE MISTAKE. If it happens, and women can make the grade, fine- if not, stay male only. Either way, keep the troops safe.

I agree. I can personally attest to the fact that several measures have been taken for the USSF pipeline to ensure that this does not occur. Thus far no female candidates have completed SF selection, due to to failing mandatory "gates".

There are hard, cold, scientific reasons that there will never be women in these communities in the numbers that Mabus and his ilk wanted, that can't be argued or ignored in the name of politics, social justice, religion, feminism, or anything else. Physics is a bitch and it doesn't give a shit about your social agenda. There might be some few women who make it the 2.5 years to earn their Tridents, but they will be statistical outliers, few and far in between. I said it once before, here on RP: if there's any more than 10 female SEALS over the next decade I will eat my shoes.

The thing is that the people who clamored for this ( Women in the Infantry/Combat Arms/Special forces,) pushed it forward despite the studies and ignored the fact that the vast majority of women who join the military don't want to be door kickers.
In my opinion there should ALWAYS be some sort of study going on that evaluates the MOSs that are feasible to put females in. However until technology gets to the point where the physical make up of a person it a moot point when selecting Job qualifications, Common sense needs to be used.

Allyssa Dalton - Push yourself towards that dream then I see you are a " potential recruit" regardless of the path you choose work hard at it.

Allyssa Dalton - Then make it happen. No one here is saying it can't be done. There WILL eventually be female SEALs, if few. Perhaps you'll be one of them. Good luck.
