The original Silicone Valley, Slater's Mill, in Pawtucket, Rhode Island started the American Industrial Revolution. Slater came over from England with the plans to build a mill, forbidden by English Law. with it, he started something that would eventually supersede his native countries own industrial revolution. this is also one of the key reasons the North won the Civil War, the abaility keep producing goods for the front.
