I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

No, nothing about enforcing immigration policy... Just checking.

Some would argue protecting our borders does fall under the realm of our oath. But you do make a valid point that it does appear to be a political/policy move only and not one of national defense.

MSgt (Join to see) - some would argue that the earth is flat, and that the vaccine is an attempt by Bill Gates to microchip us so the lizard people can track us.
That some people would argue something doesn't make it correct, or even remotely logical.

The last time they did that during the Clinton Administration the RECON MARINES shot a kid to death in Texas because they thought the stick he was carrying was a rifle being pointed at them. The DoD ignored the request those involved stay in Texas until Texas could start and complete an investigation and they were flown out in a rush back to California. So we only have the Marine Corps version of events to this day. Very sad story.
