The deepest scars I have are surgical scars from open heat surgery and colon resection. I have other scars from slashes and abrasions such as cutaways SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
Every time I go to a VBA appointment my chest scar is measured.
I have been treated for a pre-skin cancerous condition for about 20 years and have done my best to stay out of the sun since that point.
Over the past 2 years I have been diagnosed with Psoriasis which covers much of my legs - mostly lower and just above right knee. I am apply strong-steroid cream twice a day for three days and then apply a medication which slows down skin cell growth the other four days.
Part of the treatment for Psoriasis is more exposure to the sun.
I am curious if the VA will rate my Psoriasis or just continue to treat it.
Proposed- Code 7821: Cutaneous manifestations of collagen-vascular diseases are skin conditions that occur when the immune system attacks the collagen. Collagen is the proteins that are in the skin. Psoriasis is considered a collagen-vascular disease. This code is used to rate any collagen-vascular disease that is not listed elsewhere on this page, including subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus.
FYI I thought you might be interested in the VA change to skin condition coverage. COL Mikel J. Burroughs LTC Stephen C. The Only thing I can Blame the Navy for is Locking Me In Safes for 21 years and some of the Electromagnetic Radiation that I was exposed to in those safes.

This is really confusing. I have severe scarring from a rash due to chemical exposure. It is on the front of my lower arms and legs. It is reoccurring. My arms and legs look like I've been burned by cigarettes. How do I determine what that percentage is so I have an idea of percentage when I go for a C&P?
