Air Force Academy mismanaged sexual assault program, Pentagon says

MIlitary does not know how to police its own. They should be investigated by lets say AF looks at Army and so on. Takes the chance of favoritism and good old boys mostly out of the picture.

I agree with MSgt Michael Bischoff that the military doesn't need to be in this process. There needs to be a independent office on each base that does not report to the senior commander. It needs to be manned with outside civilians that are properly trained and report to one central location. Like the Office Of Special Investigations. They are on installations and support the local commander but they do not report or answer to them. That would cut out the local politics and get down to business of handling the assaults as they present themsleves either good or bad but at least it would be independent.
