Wow I hope he hires a really good Civilian Defense Counsel because he is going to need one. But folks, Rape cases often fall apart pretty quickly in the military depending on the evidence and circumstances, don't be surprised if this ends with the Col., pleading guilty to Conduct Unbecoming, and Adultery, for which he could still get dismissed and do serious Confinement time in Leavenworth. I will be tracking this to see Who he ends up hiring with as his CDC? Some of the Military CDCs out there are among the best civilian attorneys in the US for fighting rape charges under the UCMJ, and there have been some pretty good pro-defense cases to come out of the US Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces (USCAAF). I think all three branches of the Service now have a Civilian Expert Attorney working as their Highly Complex Sexual Assault Case Attorneys helping both Military Defense Counsel and their civilian counterparts in these kinds of cases.

This is just unacceptable by any good military standard. True, this Colonel may very well get off and get dismissed. Still the damage has been done to his alleged victim(s). As a survivor of MST myself just after Operation Just Cause, the military (Army) hushed it up quickly and sent me to a medical board and I was diagnosed with PTSD and Bipolar disorder and was "unfit for duty." I was subsequently medically discharged and found myself homeless for awhile until someone from the VA found me and hooked me up with a DAV NSO who helped me get back on my feet. Never is Sexual Assault or Rape ever an excuse and if the evidence says he did it then he ought to receive just punishment and dismissal. May Justice be done.

Well Said. No argument here, if he is guilty, he should fry!

It seems like over the past few years, the AF has seen a rash of these with senior officers involved. Its embarrassing.

Charged. Normally, we give the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. One individual a case does not make. Seldom is it a single instance and if he is guilty, I would bet they will come out of the woodwork.
