While sad, it is great news that the "discovery of peeling and crumbling insulation in avionics cooling lines inside the fuel tanks" occurred during scheduled depot-level maintenance of the F-35A Lightning II as opposed to catastrophic failure of any of the aircraft SP5 Mark Kuzinski.
This is great news which will hopefully help inform engineers and designers of problems and poor assumptions with the system design.

As with the Osprey, they will be eventually made airworthy after paying through the nose to the MIC. Hope Iran, N. Korea, China and ISIS have patience while we fix the airframes. Keep those A-10s until they do.

This is turning out to be as much of a Nightmare as the V-22 Osprey Program Started in 1981 and only became anywhere near reliable enough in this last war.
