Not to Air Dirty Laundry BUT!!!
In my opinion this is WHY the Military gets such a bad rap when it comes to sexual assault. This ...(insert name here) got off with a 3 month sentence and a Dishonorable Discharge. He gets to appeal the Dishonorable for 3 years and probably get it over turned after the fact. Me id like to see someone show up with three nails and a hammer that's where I want these types of people to be put.
I was onboard a Ship where we had a rape occur, the victim was the Best of the Best in my opinion. She looked out for all those around her. Now her life is tragically altered she will be scared for life because some Evil P.O.S. He was sentenced to Life with the possibility of Parole, which means he might get out in 10 years.... I think even that sentence was light. How can we address this issue with in the Military if the leaders don't take it seriously? Why would anyone ever Trust a Leadership that gives a rapist 3 months and a slap on the wrist? This is WHY the Liberals want to take over the Military Courts. This is why they don't think we cant effectively Try and Judge anyone.

According to the story, the "hard labor" is basically "Extra Duty" pulling weeds and cutting grass. He should be mopping parking lots with his tongue.

Crap judgement is what happened here. You shouldn't have to explain what sentencing guidelines are for rape.
Dishonorable discharge had a lasting effect yes, but I'm thinking rape does too. I was abused as a child and I'm still all messed up in the head decades later. I don't want to hear "I've done my time so I'm free". I've done my time and I'll never be free

Officer = Non Commissioned Officer to the press. To me the conduct of a direct supervisor in these circumstances is so much worse due to the amount of trust that needs to be present for junior Soldiers to work with the NCOs appointed to lead them. Violation of this trust should merit punishment that is significant rather than "credit for good service" that may not have been so good.
