Air Force OKs new hairstyles for women, off-duty earrings for men

The changes eliminate minimum hair length for females but set a maximum bulk of 3 ½ inches from the scalp and mandate hairstyles that allow a cover to sit properly on the head. Dreadlocks must be tightly fused or interwoven and present a neat and professional appearance.
Another rule change allows male airmen to wear earrings in civilian clothes while off duty.

I’m glad I can say i’m Retired and don’t have to deal with the sit-rep of males wearing ear rings off duty.., if we had never had obama to put up with .. we wouldn’t be having this discussion(maybe). I go back to the “if

We had a Amn who could pack his hair down and it looked good.. he’d go off base and you hardly recognized him..
he had that hair out as far as he could..
his prob was he would go s’place and try to get a Military discount if they offered it.
He showed I.D and the gal called the M.P.’s on Him.. I thought you been awol, just doing my civic duty.. she replied.
They hauled him in and called his 1st Sgt. .
Did he catch heck.. The store that had the sign posted a new one Personnel must be within the regulations of the service they are a member of. Her husband was a retired Sr. NCO and he got her a copy of the directive of each service. Regarding uniforms-and haircuts. She had less military asking, especially those that didn’t want to look Military off duty..
She got support from Cmdrs .. she said
even off duty they should show pride to be members.. look appropriate and I’ll be proud to serve you.. ..she was absolutely correct.. .
