A very tragic story behind the shooting at Lackland this week. It hurts to read that one of our own troops decided to take the life of a Squadron Commander. All I can do is pray for the families and everyone supporting this unit.

That is very sad news Capt Brandon Charters that Technical Sgt. Steven D. Bellino, a pararescue student at the 342nd, shot Lt. Col. William A. Schroeder, the commander of the 342nd Training Squadron at the 37th Training Wing at Lackland, and then killed himself, apparently.
Lord, I lift up the family and friends of Lt. Col. William A. Schroeder and pray that you are comforting them as they grieve, and I lift up the parents of Technical Sgt. Steven D. Bellino and pray that their grief is allowed to proceed without torturing themselves as they struggle to understand why their son killed the commander and then himself.

Disturbing. I saw an article that said he spent 2 years as an FBI agent. Very unconventional career path here. It will be interesting to learn more.
