Thanks for letting us know SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL that 35y-five airmen have been selected to participate in the latest iteration of the Air Force Career Intermission Program, which allows airmen to take up to three years off to focus on personal and professional pursuits.
Hopefully most will focus on professional pursuits such as additional education and/or training.
I was surprised that this CIP program allowed USAF personnel to take 3 years off for "personal" pursuits.

People define "personal time" in a variety of ways. Makes one wonder how many 'beach bums' will be serviced into higher echelons of time served.

Most interesting and Intriguing Program... almost Like the Army s Boot Strap program in the Mid 80's... both the military and the Individual benefit from the Program...

It's interesting to me that the Air Force released 35 folks for three years, but my own career field struggles to just PCS someone to a non-flying job for a couple years.
