Air Force to have enlisted pilots for first time since World War II

I wish this was open when I was in. I would've gladly given up slaving in -45 degree weather on the flightline. Sit inside a climate controlled box flying supped-up RC planes or getting 6 gallons of hydro dumped on me during a blizzard? Give me some pretzels and some Red Bull and let me log in!

They're flying a UAV...they're NOT pilots. Just FYI to slap some people back into reality;
PILOTS sit at the "pointy end" of the airplane.
OPERATORS sit in an air conditioned room thousands of miles away from it.

There IS a difference...

Good hand to eye coordination, the ability to understand the operating parameters and technical systems is required.

Much...MUCH...different from strapping into an airplane and taking off where your LIFE depends on every action and decision you make.

Who comes up with this stuff???
