I first saw pictures of this super jumbo jet when in Iraq in 2004. Recently, the venerable Boeing 747 is being phased out by the airlines. Too bad this jet was not successful in other than a few select airlines. This was kind of like the French conquered that required specific runways.

This is interesting as Boeing was even emphatic this plane was doomed to a short run if any on investor calls. Investors were concerned about Boeing going with the 787 when Airbus was moving to the A380. Looks like Boeing was right again and did it's research. I see these A380's all the time at DFW Airport, mostly Emirates and ME airlines.
