Good for Airman Spencer Stone! I watched their Megan Kelly interview. All three of them were so humble and felt they were not hero's.
Spencer Stone did get stabbed and almost didn't make it. ..and even though he was injured and bleeding he stayed with the civilian who was shot by the gunman....keeping his finger on his artery that was spewing blood out through his neck....Not only did Spencer save a bunch of people, but he saved this guys life tool.
They saved many lives that day. I'm happy for him to receive the Purple Heart.

In the war on terror, the world is our battlefield. To save face Obama did not want the victims of the Fort Hood shooting to receive a Purple Heart. He gave it a touchy-feely good name. Work place violence.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the Purple Heart, I thought, was for wounds from battle. Unless they are considering this guy to be the enemy?

It is the International War on Terror. There is no way to define a theater of combat. There is no way to define an enemy combatant. There is no way to quantify what actions taken are taken in the war on terror. After seeing the wounds the guy had on the back of his head and neck, There is no doubt that he was in combat for his life. It was not a military operation, but he was a United States service member putting himself in harm's way to protect the people.

Thought you had to be in uniform, and not on leave. guess it doesn't matter. Just glad nobody was killed.
