Thanks for reminding us SP5 Mark Kuzinski that in 1969 Airman First Class John L. Levitow threw himself on an activated, smoking magnesium flare, then drug himself and the flare to the open cargo door, and tossed it out of the aircraft just before it ignites this saving his fellow crewman on the Douglas AC-47 gunship. Thankfully he was alive when he was awarded the Medal of Honor.
Kudos to John L. Levitow for actions above and beyond the call of duty!

This guy is a legend in the Air Force. The most prestigious Airman Leadership School award is named after him. A true hero. Its nice to see his exploits talked about so that the non-Air Force world can remember him too.

Remember reading about it my senior year of high school. Unbelievably impressive.
