Ak 47 vs M16 Power

There will always be the debate, but as far as 7.62x39 over 5.56 it is as simple as doing the math.

As far as power with the rounds CQB the AK in 7.62 is the best as long as you don't have to do 10 mag changes and you don't mine the guy behind you not having the safety on. The M-16 would be a winner in CQB is you need a platform you can put things like flashlights/lasers on and if you are planning on battling from room to room because of mag changes. Maintenance is not really an issue. The M-16 got a bad rap back in the 60's. The M-16 will run from clean to funky without any issues for at least a 1000 rounds. The AK will run from clean to the end of the earth without any issues, but after 60 rounds fired off quick you can't hold the front grip without gloves and after 150 you have to hold the magazine. Each gun has pluses and minuses.

If I had my druthers and ammo was plentiful I would run a M-4 in 6.5 Grendel.
