For some reason it seems that those crazy Canucks always wait until at least 50,000 are affected before they declare an "emergency".
It wouldn't take that long for a free people who didn't live in a socialist monarchy to start tossing government money at the situation.
PS - If you are going to send money, please check the government of Canada website because if you send the money to an approved organization then it will be eligible for "matching grants".
PPS - Albertans apologize for the fact that destroying a town and leaving over 25,000 people homeless is causing the price you have to pay for gas for your car to go up.

it's a socialist democracy, - the Canadian Constitution was repatriated in 1982. The Queen's a figurehead, not a ruler. :D

(Join to see) - Actually the form of government in Canada is what is known as a "Constitutional Monarchy" and NOT a "Socialist Democracy".
You are, however, correct in that the Queen is a "figurehead" (as are most "Heads of State" who do not derive their position 'ex officio' from being "President" (or the equivalent term for the country's "Head of Government").

"Socialist Democracy" is the perception, but you are correct, Canada is classified as a Constitutional Monarchy.
