American Legion Mental Health Survey

There was a couple demographics like zip code I do not assent to those. Additionally I have been voluntarily committed (twice) and both times my doctor said , that they were not necessary. At the VA, I had a subdural Hematoma and I was threatened by one patient who said he was going to kill me. For the hematoma, I was in the ICU for 5 days. The VA needs to have home health visits (if a vet accepts) to ask veterans how they are doing. Good idea! Having a seizure and having to go to a medical ICU. For a voluntary hold which become a serious injury. So, the VA needs to do outpatient care because many vets have problems like I do. It is a disincentive to seek treatment. They don't even tell you that you can leave after 72 hours. This is a clinical assessment not a jail. I am dejected with all of this.

SSgt (Join to see) - Have you worked with the DAV or American Legion or some other organization besides the VA? Did you sign a Power of Attorney for any claim(s) you submitted? GIven what you have related above I can see why you are dejected...

Sgt (Join to see) My Epilepsy is quasi-undercontrol. As a result, I can't drive. In essence a dependent who can't get to American Legion. It would nice to hang out with other vets.

Good on AL and the VFW should do the same as well as the VA itself. Perhaps they do already. I am a Lifetime member of VFW walked out of AL Post in 1969 and never returned. I think they both have their merits but also would not be surprised to see them extinct in the next 5 years. The auxiliary in both does a tremendous job and is what keeps them going.
