Throw in some random no probable cause school wall locker, automobile and person searches and lets see how they like giving up a right or two. I understand the desire but this looks like parents using their children like puppets to parrot lines they would like to say. I don't look to teenagers for wisdom or legal understanding or anything that remotely looks like real life experience as they have none.
I fully appreciate their concern and desire to do something but they are already veering off course and I think they are getting coached.

I posted the same thing (them being coached) just before I saw your comment. I'm absolutely convinced there's an entire army of PR reps coaching the parents, who in turn tell their kids what to say.

What I see is a lot of well intentioned but misguided young folks. What I didn’t see was a well thought out plan to actually prevent future school shootings.

FOX News Channel had some amazingly ignorant teenagers trying to "call out" the NRA as an evil organization -- one even commented that NRA donors should be ashamed. Those kids & all anti-NRA citizens should spend time & energy learning about National Rifle Association of America before making silly public statements.

Let's say a house is burning down.
If you stand there and say, "Sure is sad the house is burning down"...it will certainly continue to burn. If you pick up a garden hose and spay a little water on the house...it will still burn down. If you panic and dump a whole lake's volume of water on the house...the fire WILL go out...but the house will still be destroyed.
I appreciate the fact these youth wish to show their solidarity and concern-it is they who are in the firing line. However, I'm generally of the opinion that one should gain enough maturity and experience to suggest real solutions before "demanding" anything. Still, I concur that these statements are largely coming not from themselves...but what they have been taught by we the "adults".
