Reading is dangerous. It exposes citizens to thoughts that the state may not approve. I had children in school when the US Dept of Education was established and watched the change. As more and more of school funding came from the federal govt, the Golden Rule took over (Those that have the gold make the rules). Progressive elitists trained at progressive colleges and universities began dictating curriculum. Indoctrination replaced education and you can bet that reading was their first target.

I read mostly non fiction. The last four were:

Mayflower - Philbrick
The Somme - Hart
The Battle of Verdun - Axelrod
We Gave our Today - Fowler

I fly a lot which is when I do a lot of my reading. I am always surprised at how many adults are playing video games on their phone/pad instead of reading something, anything. Reading almost anything is better than reading nothing.

Carlin makes some very direct points. Educated masses are dangerous for those in control. I just finished Rainbow Six by Clancy and working on a Strategy book as well as Generation Me currently. Trying them in the electronic format...not working out to old school and need the book SSG Robert Webster
