People fight, make love, travel, trade and conquer. The extent these activities are carried on is truely remarkably. Roman galley was found in the harbor in Brazil. Ancient Japanese remains were found at the tip of South America cocaine was found in an ancient Egyptian tomb. I would not be surprised if traders carried Roman coins and exchanged them across Asia.

Hitomi has smoke coming from her ears on this one. There have been hoaxes before all around the world that were finally proven false with some taking hundreds of years to discover the truth. There has to be some way to determine how long the ancient coins have actually been in the ground (metallic leaching into the soil, etc). That is one of those things that must be considered BS until proven true. It's common to have a farmer in England plow the same field for generations only to uuearth Roman coins. I even have a few. But that just makes sense because of the historical context of those pesky Romans being all over the region. But Japan was a mystery to the west until around 1500-ish. The oldest coins would be Portuguese, English, and Dutch. Life is too short to not have any fun. I urge you to dig down a good ways and bury some crazy stuff that will be discovered in 500 years. When the family dog dies, put a World War I helmet on him along with a horse saddle, roller skates, some WWII era German Reichmarks, and put all the items inside an old suntanning bed with the lid locked down with a pair of handcuffs. Let someone dig that up.

Many Roman era coins were still in use during that time period, even still used in remote areas of the French Alps in the 1800's. These coins were usually counter-stamped with a mark from official bank survey to guarantee their content and weight. Many of these coins were eventually taken out of circulation when replaced and Government officials used them as trading coins with newly opened Asian markets at the time.

That is very interesting news SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser that ancient roman coins were found under the ruins of a Japanese castle. I expect pirates may have buried their loot long ago before the castle was built...
