I used to think Judge Napolitano saw a bogeyman around every corner. With all the revelations over the past few years of what our government is doing watching US citizens in the name of security, I owe him an apology.

My quick take is the Patriot Act needs to be abolished; the NSA spy apparatus observing US citizens needs dismantling, and the US Supreme Court needs to grow their collective sets and firmly entrench a ruling, or rulings, that reaffirms our Constitutional Rights (its a sad state of affairs that they would have to), not the administrative rights of our government.

I know its simplistic, but its a start.

SSG Robert Webster - Thanks and sorry if I pegged your fun meter. It's hard to communicate when not in person, and I didn't mean that I'm for wanton violation of rights because I'm definitely not. It's just that it's a different world we live in due to extremism, and if surveillance helps keep us safe it's a small price to pay. I don't like it but I don't like many things and sometimes we have to bite the bullet. I'd guess it will eventually end up with SCOTUS to test constitutionality. There's no guarantee that surveillance will prevent attacks as evidenced by the home grown bad actors in the last few years, and if the government misuses any info I'll be among the first to raise cane over it. That's if we even know about it. As far as the recent AG actions, I'm not clear on it yet and reserve judgement until I am. At face value I am not thrilled about it. Best wishes and thanks again.

LTC Trent Klug - you did bring up the Supreme Court and it has been conservative since Bush selected the Chief Justice. until the failure to select a new justice now its either way.

I would say your wrong based on two things. The Chief Justice sided with the progressives on the court which allowed that monstrosity, aka the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, to survive and be declared Constitutional; and that Justice Kennedy gets in his 'maverick' mode and sides with the progressives quite often.

Given those two members, I would not call the USSC a "conservative" court all the time.

How about we all stop trying to adjust the charter of freedom to fit our behavior and adjust our behavior to fit the charter?
PS: US Marines rotating on TDY should be manning these screening stations and all borders imo, complaints would drop dramatically and the security standard would imo increase exponentially.
Yer pal,
