While universal single provider health care may be nice for some, those who have to pay for it have second thoughts. Forcing mandatory enrollment, and stiffing others to pay higher premiums is not a solution which many are comfortable with. Going back to a time before ACA is needed to give an opportunity for more equitable system to be devised.

I'm not sure I'd agree with that assertion. Those getting insurance through the Medicaid expansion will not be impacted. Those who qualify for the subsidies will be protected because if the premiums rise, the subsidies will also rise. The people who will impacted are those who have income exceeding 400% of the poverty line (and don't qualify for subsidies). Plus, some states may implement their own individual mandate to prop up their insurance exchanges. Regardless, eliminating the mandate doesn't help matters.
I find it ironic that the GOP killed the mandate. After all, they "did build that" back in the 90s with their Heritage Plan. Plus, at one time, the GOP was all about individual responsibility ("Buy your own darned insurance"). Now they're all about personal liberty ("I want the freedom to be uninsured!").

What exchanges? I think most have gone bankrupt. The transfer of wealth from the middle class to the poor via Obamacare is bankrupting the middle class. Some families have $37,000.00/ year premiums with $6,00.00 deductible. https://nypost.com/2017/09/06/obamacare-is-making-the-middle-class-the-new-uninsured/
ObamaCare is making the middle class the new uninsured
Brace yourself for the next health insurance crisis: The middle class is becoming the new uninsured. The Affordable Care Act added millions of mostly poor people to the insurance rolls. But the law…
