It doesn't appear good, but if you read a little deeper, you can see this is for propaganda purposes. Manbij is well outside the area of operations Turkey is operating in. They might free up some Syrian units to go further North, but the Russians are just making a show of "patrolling" for the sake of building some IO up there.

Already the Russians are capitalizing on the situation. It did not take them long. I had been advised that they wanted nothing to do with the situation when I suggested they may very well get involved. Syria has already regained 30% of the of the Kurdish held land without firing a shot. This is a mess. We are pulling out troops, we are not pulling out all the troops. I have no idea what is going on but it doesn't look good to me
