There's a lot. Working in an aquarium I learned that the Gulf of Mexico is a huge nursery for many smaller sharks and there isn't a lot of tracking going on for many.

SPC Jon O. Ha, you sound like my wife. I learned to swim and SCUBA dive on Cape Cod and never gave it a second thought. One thing different though was that there were no seals on the Cape like there are now and those seals attract hungry sharks.
