While I’m not active in martial arts I do support a local gym even in this time. I’ve put on some weight and needs to get back to good old Army body weight exercise. #PTisFree

Jay,
I am a practitioner of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) as a one-stripe purple belt. I've been involved with it since I was 53 years old and I am now 63. My goal is to get my BJJ Blackbelt by the time I'm in my seventies. I can honestly say it has helped me on many levels and to overcome a myriad of very difficult situations; a separated achilles tendon, psoriatic arthritis, three separated ribs, divorce, right hip replacement, and plasmacytoma cancer. I'm now remarried, pushed through my medical issues and now able to train. Because of the difficult training and humility it provides, it has been life-changing and gives me the motivation to press on after we get through this COVID 19 pandemic. That should sum it up as a retired U. S. Navy Seabee: With a willing mind and able hands, the difficult we overcome, the impossible will take a bit longer.
