Yes the headline is something akin to alarmist but I ignored it and read the whole article which was very interesting. It looked at the COLA for seniors and the CPI-W compared to a proposed Chain-CPI.

Reform will probably come someday, but not until Congress has waited long enough that a huge gap will be created between the old system and the new. Then, millions of aged will suffer needlessly because Congress has its own retirement and is oblivious to the needs of REAL Americans.
