Thanks for sharing. Is an old video, but the issue is still current. I never trusted that university and I still don't.

I was in kind of the same sit-rep. I got released from service on disability (TDRL)and got into a Comm. college. In a Culinary Arts/
Restaurant Management program.
For my Vocation-Rehab. Unde this
The VA pays for all classes, Uniforms, books..my Chef knife kit. so all I needed was portfolio to carry my gear.. I could have gotten my work safety shoes . I had the voucher .. and went to a Red Wings
Work shoe store. I would pay for the shoes/boots there be two receipts one for me and one on the voucher. and I submit to my VA counselor.. The clerk rang up the sale and had to go in back To get the shoes. I said to myself, i fon’t need them shoes, I still got my AF
safety shoes .. so I grabbed the voucher and left and folding on the way out.. when I got to school I dropped the voucher in the VA lady’s mailbox slot. I had on the
AF Safety toe half boots (which happened to be Red Wings.brand)
Later.. A fellow student (not a Vet) brought me in a paper.. on it
Was wording about articles/supplies recieved as part of grants(public or private ) must be declared as income ... bla-bla -bla
I didn’t see any connection.. I think he met non government so I wasn’t. Concerned about what he tried to convey.. I just left the paper
On the bench and went about getting my education/rehabilitation.
2 weeks later a letter came and the check was at the VA counselor’s office to pick up . I went up and told her what happened. About the clerk stapling the receipt to the voucher but not getting the $69 for the shoes. I took the voucher and left forgetting the receipt as on it..
She asked why and I told her I had my AF Safety boots and didn’t need another pair.. she got a red marker and made a x across the check. She asked about the boots I had on.. I told her I turned an old pair in somebody left in the barracks when they left. As long as I turned a pair in (I supposed they just scrapped them. 1st Sgt told me they go to the federal prison and givento someone on work derail).. I still had the first pair in pretty decent shape.. I rotated them.. a different pair every day .. the guy that gave me that paper tried to keep pressuring me..
To not to forget to declare my gear
As Income.. or turn them back in..
I told him that even though i’ve A Closedhead injury(TBI) doesn’t mean he can play mind games .. I told him that under U.S. Code that trying to dupe or cheat or cause undue stress in Disabled Veterans leaves a risk of that /those Veterans
To rearrange body parts, disassemble if said parts at no fault
Of involved Veteran and any culpability for said crimes would be dismissed.. and it would be at risk of plaintiff.
