Asking this question is really a waste of time. The police were created as a form of control after the abolishment of slavery. Therefore for many years the sole purpose of the police for was to be as strict as possible and imprison as many blacks as they could. Now over the years the job of the police officer was supposed to have changed to protect and serve but in many places across our nation the police are still enforcing two types of laws. There are laws against blacks and laws for everyone else. This systemic problem occurs on a daily basis and more excuses and latitude is given to the police when the arrest, shooting, or crime has occurred when a black is involved. Just like many blacks in the Army will tell you today they have been racially profiled by police even though they are soldiers. Why are cops fearful for their lives? I thought they signed up to be a cop. Do soldiers walk around combat zones shooting every Arab they see because they fear for their lives when they have to approach them. But our police use this as an excuse to murder civilians without just cause. Often other means of force could have been used but they immediately resort to the most deadly force and shoot to kill. Are cops trained to shoot to injure? What's wrong with shooting a guy with a knife in his leg or arm. Why does he need to die. But it all depends on who you are or what crime you commit. If you murder 9 innocent black people in a church you get arrested but if you lay on your back with your arms in the air and tell the police you are assisting an autistic man you are shot. Why have the Timothy McVay's of the world been arrested but the Trayvon Martin's are gunned down. Police should be held to a higher standard than civilians since they have the right to shoot to kill but often they are playing a guessing game and killing innocent people. I honestly love the police that are out there policing but there aren't many and the few bad apples that appear every week on the news makes the force as a whole look corrupt. Why do we see the same stories every week on the news? Then ask are police racially profiling. They have been for many years now the difference is technology is finally backing what the black man has been saying for ages. I was pulled over for. I reason beat, violated, and arrested for resisting arrest although there were no initial charges. I will close by saying how can someone be charged with resisting arrest unless they are being arrested for something. Just makes no sense. I apologize now for typos and spelling since I typed this on my phone.

SFC (Join to see) - I will STFU when innocent people stop getting shot by police. Apparently you don't keep up with the news because everything I stated was facts. Dylan Roof, Charles Kinsey, and many other instances. But based upon your response you are part of the problem not part of the answer. I have enjoyed my retirement. You are so right I earned. So after 21 years of service I have a right to speak my mind freely since I have fought for this right and was given it by someone else's blood. I appreciate your response and would be open for a debate at anytime on this matter if you come with facts as I did and there is no profanity. Stay professional if you can.

MSG Stanley C. - you stated your beliefs, not facts. Point me to your source of knowledge so I can read for myself. I will not just take your word for it. BTW, we had police since Jamestown was established.

Nope! However, the Obama administration, the leftist DOJ, and mainstream media sure as hell painted them as such. I do not know what's worse, them compartmentalizing the peace officer or we as Americans falling for it...very sad.

I don't think it's racism as much as I think it's a lack of respect for law enforcement. When a cop says get down you get down. When they say put your hands up you put your hands up.

That being said every "race" of people have a stereotype. Some good some bad.

If you fit the stereotype you're gonna cause more problems for yourself.

Also most of the time, from my understanding, (I could be wrong) people killed by police are the ones not listening to or following orders.
