Windows was 4or8 gigabyte memory maximum so if that's the same idea and additionally as mentioned, running newer processors, it could be good. If I understand though Linux Users like lightweight and portability, however if x64 is also a prereq for newer hardware, have to get the times haha, good luck

[Some] Linux users like lightweight and portability. For those there's antiX, Lubuntu, and many more.
For those who want supercomputers, there's KDE, and KDE is probably Google Chrome's cousin because they bother LOVE and crave resources.

Yes. Most of not all 32 bit OSs are/were based on the x86 chip ... with all of its limitations ... I say GOOD riddance. Now if Windows would do the same thing ..... and get rid of all of the backwards compatibility to 32 bit ...

I don't think that's going to happen with Windows anytime soon. A lot of enterprises and corporations run Microsoft on older systems.
