Having participated in that mission once, I think a dedicated pipeline and classification isn't a terrible idea...provided it's done correctly. If you could train as a team full-time; not just over a few months...develop skill sets across multiple deployments as a unit...and progress along a prescribed track towards professional development...it could be great. On the other hand, ETTs and other colors of "advisers" are still operating in a combat environment, and if combat skills aren't paramount to the training, you're creating a potential disaster. We could not have succeeded in any measure without the infantry, EOD, comms, SBU, etc "types" that found their way into our teams...and brought that experience to bear.
