This is a terrific example of why Social Media is bad. Seems like none of the comments, and I wonder if the submitter, has read the article.

There is a -lot- more to this, as is clearly written. Politically motivated unprofessional conduct, well beyond a single word.

Is actually reading content that is the subject of discussion too much to ask?

Because it's from Stripes. They make their money off servicemembers, and they know their market. Hence, clickbait headline.

If a General can't maintain professionalism with civilians he disagrees with... There's no way he'll be able to handle the next set of jobs, which are increasingly more reliant on civilians. Democrat, Republican, Pastafarian, makes no difference- none of us can be disrespectful to Congressional types. Thus, no promotion.

Of course this isn't the full story, but it's obvious there's more to it, and with a bit of experience, it's not hard to extrapolate.

I agreee that there is more to this story. Remember how much power a General commands. When deployed they are the President with the size of their entourages. What other job other than the President do you walk around all day where everyone does what you want done. I have no doubt in my mind this General disrespected the wrong congressional staffer

Privates lie.

Generals have incidents of incorrect memory.

Rank makes a very big difference in adjudications.
