Once again my expert opinion many of the people being turned away would be great soldiers and many of the ones who want to negotiate my orders with me would be better off in college. There are still plenty of jobs in the military that require a strong back and a weak mind.

I’m thinking that no commander wants to be the one to approve a waiver and then be held responsible for the outcome when it goes sideways. Besides, there is always a psych consult before anything like this is considered... I just don’t see any applications getting approved

If the Commander has to get a pedigree on everyone he is in command of. What happens when you get draftees. You take what you get and make soldiers of them

My thoughts exactly... As a Recruiter, I say, if a kid wants in, let’s give him the opportunity. Succeed or fail, it’ll be for the individual to own. Beats the crap out of chasing those with 0 interest.
