Army quietly deactivates its small-team reconnaissance units

I wish they would get rid of band units before recon units which is more useful to the army and it's mission.

Hopefully those who determine force structure requirement will soon recognize that there will be a consistent requirement for highly skilled small-team reconnaissance units 1SG(P) (Join to see).
While environments change from urban to jungle and mount to desert and swamp, small unit reconnaissance units have been incredibly useful for many centuries.
I expect that SOCOM will not forget the utility of small-team reconnaissance units.

I think the problem, as it always has been, is that these commanders don’t know how to use them. And maybe in the most current war there isn’t much of a difference in how you use a line company. But, when we start back up on a more conventional type war in a more vegetation/ jungle environment like South America or Korea we will need those eyes out there.
