One of 2 things will happen. Either the standard will be lowered so that women will be able to pass whatever the test is, or fewer women will be able to join the military due to the higher standard they must now pass. I don't say this to incite a gender war. It's basic biology. Women have less muscle mass than men. It's that simple. So if you raise the bar across the board, fewer women will be able to pass. And if you lower the bar, well, that's bad too. I like the idea of having one test and different jobs requiring different scores. Want to be in the infantry? Score up here. Want to be an admin clerk? Score here. That makes more sense to me.

Exactly. Requirements shouldn't be gender-based at all. They should be job-based, with some minimum so that you don't get fatties as admins.

Let's see how this rolls out.
The Marines recently changed (lowered) their standards, so I am a bit skeptical of this change, but am keeping an open mind.
