"a common complaint has emerged regarding the absence of pockets in the shorts."

Are you kidding me?

Of course, I never served when there was a debate about RT uniforms. We fell out for PT wearing our regular dirty uniform.

Of course I am old. Served 1964-1986.

But pockets in shorts is a big concern?

For once, Stan, you and I are in complete agreement.

It is a PT Uniform, not a "stop at the mall" uniform. What the hell do you need pockets for? ID Card pocket should be all you need.

I mean, when I was in, if we were in summers, I had nowhere to put my car keys and I wasn't leaving them anywhere. When we had on the jacket I could have my keys and phone on me...and the phone I did need in case daycare called which did happen. I also used it to log my walking in and keep pace...

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff there is. It is on the waistband.

You do not need your phone or keys to PT.
