I wish the military media would stop making such a big deal out of his sexuality. It shouldn't even be an issue in today's DoD world...lets just focus on him getting the job done well

"Of his sexuality, Fanning tells NBC's 'Today' he initially preferred to have people talk about his qualifications. But he says, 'Now, I embrace it.'"

Oh; I thought that WAS his qualification!

A bit 'uncool' for a Major. @Maj Rob Dury.

If one is qualified for a job why would you say it is remarkable that you were selected for it. I would only think it would be remarkable if you got a job based on something other than your qualifications. So he knows he is in a job he would not be in if he was not gay. People's lives are hanging on the decisions he makes in a position that he has basically said he is not otherwise qualified for, all for the purpose of furthering an agenda.
