Let's say that the Chili's manager wasn't certain of how to identify a veteran. Whose failure is that? Well, the company for certain. Let's say the company made a fair effort to prepare him to make that decision. Whose fault then? The manager's. If in doubt, provide the benefit. What is the cost of a hamburger compared to the cost of the adverse publicity?

I advised him to take his '14 to the VA and get a white VA card w/ photo. I NEVER had ANY problem except mistakenly walking into a non-participating store.

Everywhere I have asked for a veteran's discount has taken my VA card as proof. Let's face it, you have to have served to be issued a VA ID.

Not necessarily, if you're not getting free medical from the VA or getting care at one or a Vietnam Vet may not get a VA ID.

SPC William Tarbush. I said you have to have served to GET a VA ID, not you get one automatically if you served. I didn't get one until a few years ago, and I got out in 1985.

Take your dd-214 to the DMV. Most states will give you a free replacement Drivers Lic. With VETERAN embosed on it.

I have read several versions of this story and commented on the injustice. However this is the first time I have seen a sentence in there about a "Trump" sticker. This situation is horrible but the media is making it into a political racist issue. When will the media learn to quit manipulating the facts to fit their own agendas.
