I know this is odd because we are not surrounded by Sikhs but I agree with this rule. Not only do Sikhs wear beards but turbans as well to cover their hair, which is one of the 5 articles for Sikhs. Hair is sacred to them because it is a creation of God. In 2008, a New York City man was convicted of a hate crime for forcibly cutting the hair of a Sikh classmate.

Should not have been allowed. Troop Sikh Singh saw what cover was the standard at sign-up. STANDARD! means no other. The Army moved against everyone on this one special case that has been straight shooters all their career.
