In many ways this is to be expected. With the active component manning levels the lowest since pre-WW2 where else are they going to get the manpower they need for the expected Trump initiatives in the war against ISIL/ISIS?

The Active Component is at low levels. However, the RC has been cut severely too. Hope something changes soon so we can secure the country.

NG myself, it's been talked about a lot. The likelihood of being deployed seems higher and higher, especially in a unit like mine that hasn't been out in a few years. I know people that hope it doesn't happen and I know people that hope it does. If it does it does, we get our orders then we execute.
The downside for the Guard and Reserves is our Civilian jobs. I've had management thinking I was quitting just because a drill came up, or annual training, or some other set of orders. Quite frankly my managers were window lickers but I imagine others have similar problems.
The job situation worries Soldiers and Airmen sometimes, especially those with families to support. So if we have to go then we'll go but I think they would feel better about it with a show of support not just from ESGR but from the community at large.
